NIFT Delhi Established in 1986, the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Delhi initially offered only one design course from a temporary two-room set-up. In 1994, NIFT Delhi shifted to its permanent campus which was designed by Dr BV Doshi. NIFT was set up in 1986 under the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India and is a Statutory Institute Governed by the NIFT Act 2006. Currently, it has 17 campuses spread across the country, namely NIFT Chennai, NIFT Bengaluru, NIFT Patna, NIFT Gandhinagar, NIFT Hyderabad and NIFT Kolkata, among others. NIFT Delhi offers UG, PG, and diploma and Continuing Education (CE) programmes in the field of design. It was ranked one for Fashion Design by the Week 2020. Also, it is the only Design Institute of India to be ranked on the list of top 20 Design colleges, internationally.
