BHUBANESWAR: From getting hold of miniature instruments used by astronomer and mathematician Pathani Samanta to studying the works of great Indian scholars and mathematicians like Ramanujan, Brahmagupta, Acharya Pingala, Aryabhata and Madhava, schoolchildren will soon get a glimpse of India’s ancient knowledge.

Researchers at Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) under the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) are working on textbooks for schools incorporating learnings from India rich past as part of NE.

“Due to western influence and various other reasons, the works of our ancient scholars and mathematicians have not been decoded or popularized among the masses. Our Vedas and scriptures are storehouse of scientific knowledge and through various projects IKS is working on reviving these traditional knowledge and simplifying them for the younger generations,” said Nachieketa Khamari Sharma, principal investigator of the project.
